SM Apoyo Mutuo is a centre of resistance, creation and education born in the context of the social outbreak movement in Chile during 2019 inside the artistic projects space Sagrada Mercancía. It provides medical supplies to the health brigades, designs, produces and delivers safety equipment and organizes first aid, self-defense and civic education sessions. Also, provides help and supplies to different non-visible social groups since the global pandemic. It has more than 30 volunteers coming from diverse backgrounds.

The money will pay, among other things, for: physiological saline solution, medicine, towels, cloths, bandages (to stop bleedings), gloves, buckets, eye protection (glasses), helmets, gas masks, food and water.
The medical supplies are bought and delivered according to the needs of each riot day. Volunteers of our team are in contact with health brigades in Santiago, Valparaiso and other locations where help might be needed.

[Popular Resistance]
We are an organization of resistance and social collaboration, created from the strong context of police and military repression with which the State of Chile responded to the Chilean Social Outbreak of October 18th, 2019. This support organization was initially raised within the physical exhibition space of Sagrada Mercancia, and its activation as a refuge with which this independent art project space decided to operate during the acute crisis unleashed by the Social Outbreak. Now SM Apoyo Mutuo constitutes an autonomous and multi-character organization made up of artists, designers, architects, journalists, doctors, writers, audiovisual workers, among others. Our main objective is to think new forms of collective support, enhancing the different strengths that its members contribute. This has resulted in various actions, among which are:

Shelter and resistance to police brutality
2.
Management, purchase and distribution of medical supplies for the different health points that were deployed to attend to the protesters injured by the state repression
3.
The design and construction of defense devices for health workers and rescuers
4.
Developments of first aid workshops and constituent processes
5.
Direct monetary contributions to community and social organizations, common pots and various aid organizations born within the communes of families and social activists who have been affected by the current Covid-19 pandemic.
